SP Sin
Profession: A/W
Name: Shadow Prison Assassin
Type: Competitive PvP
Category: Spiker
Attributes:
Critical Strikes- 11 + 3 + 1
Dagger Master- 10 + 3
Deadly Arts- 10 + 3
Skills Set:
1.) Shadow Prison [Elite, deadly arts]
2.) Iron Palm [deadly arts]
3.) Tiger Stance [strength]
4.) Falling Spider [dagger mastery]
5.) Horns of the Ox [dagger mastery]
6.) Black Lotus Strike [critical strikes]
7.) Twisting Fangs [critical strikes]
8.) Dash [no attribute]
Summary: The goal is simple- an absoloute spike that will take out any build. The tactics are the trick. Here is a basic walkthrough.
-Stay at the back of your team as you enter battle
-Pick your target in order of importance (Monk, Ritualist, Mesmer, Necromancer, Assassin, Elementalist, Paragon, Ranger, Dervish, Warrior)
-Wait until target is not adjacent to any allies for maximum spike (good for healers or curse/ blinders)
-Use Shadow Prison to slow them, then iron palm immediately for knockdown
-hit tiger stance and falling spider at the same time for max speed, then complete combo (note that combo can be performed at 30 energy, but an extra 5 is at your disposal)
-use dash for a quick escape to regenerate
-dash is also useful for solo work 1v1 or if your team is dead
Notes & Concerns: Obviously this build is very fragile and goes down easy (you only have 305 hp and 35 energy), so timing is critical for success. In addition you should equip the following-
1.) All radiant ensignias
2.) A Superior Vigor Rune, Extra rune of energy for last slot
3.) Zealous Daggers of Defense "Too Much Information" (-1 energy regen, +5 defense, +15% damage against hexed foes)
Credit: The Shadow Prison Assassin is one of the most over-used noob builds that has lost its value from improper use. After some experimentation I found it to be one of the best spike builds with a little modification and perfect timing. This is my original take on the SP Sin.

Doesn't matter how strong your spike is when your dead from running a ridiculously low amount of health due to 3 sup runes.

that's why timing is critical- I said that this build required pro strats- I often am the last one alive on my team if we lose.. its all in the timing

- Your use of 3 superior runes... my God, epic fail.
- Why would take out a ritualist before a Mesmer or a Necro?
- Why do you think +5 defense matters when you only have 305 health? Since you're all out damage and don't care what happens to you, you might as well bring a handle of dagger mastery, try to eke out a couple more points of damage.
The SP sin has a lot of variations, but I disapprove of this one.

You will die with 3 sup runes. It does not matter what you do, you will die. With dp, you'll be more useless then you already are with that build.

Note that, with that level of HP, an ele could probably spike you down solo. That is, they could see you running by and decide to go after you and kill you before you could do anything.

your build is mediocre, and the 3 sup runes ruins it sorry. the touch skill makes you have an aftercast timer which makes it slower than the standard sp sin and you take up an extra skill slot.

lol you'll need a mega-uber vigor rune. I've seen a couple of this build in ab last week. Not sure if that's you. But ya it'd be deadlier if there's expose + fix your runes.

Don't be so quick to judge. The point is to not attract attention- if you stay in the back and wait you really can survive. If you luck out with a monk then even if you are attacked dash and heals can keep you up. I will admit that any substantial amount of attention will take you down, but prevention is the idea. The spike is so fast that it makes up for it- your in and out in only 8 seconds.

My assassin has 45 energy without radiant insignias. Do I win a prize?

and you compare that time to AoD sin or the decent SP sin and your in and out in only 4 seconds?

8 seconds?
The average (read: decent) SP sin is 4-5. And doesn't die of a light breeze.

8 seconds means you are out of enemy attack range. It is the total time for the combined spike and total escape. Obviously arguing will not make a difference. I just encourage you to try my builds before you judge them. Just gotta run good strats man but don't think that all of my sins are like this. I have a Rt/A with super dps and only 1 sup rune- plenty of hp.

think what you want- I have had GW since day one of prophecies. I'm sure many of you have. I understand I am new to your site, but don't take me for a fool. If you truly put the time into the build and you still can't handle it then its just not for you-

Rt/A being spirits strength spiker?
dude,8 seconds kill+escape is slow.
and your strats will kinda suck balls when you get hit by something called cripple
i think ya kinda got pulled apart, plus anyone can handle an SP build with a little timing(or in some cases it takes a lil more for different stuff)
